Definition of high carbon ferro chrome

High-carbon ferro chrome is also called big-eye chromium, with a carbon content of 4-8%. It is mainly produced in Jilin, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi and other places in China. For high chromium, 50% of the chromium content is used as the benchmark assessment unit. High-carbon ferro chrome should be in the form of natural blocks, and the weight of each block should not exceed 15 kg. The weight of ferro chrome blocks with a size less than 20*20mm should not exceed 5%. The raw materials for smelting high-carbon ferro chromium include chromium ore, coke and silica. The raw materials are smelted by blast furnace method, electric furnace method, plasma furnace method and other methods to obtain high-carbon ferro chrome, which are often packaged in bulk, bags and barrels.
High-carbon ferro chromium is mainly used in the production of stainless steel, ball bearing steel, tool steel, nitrided steel, heat-strength steel, carburized steel and hydrogen-resistant steel. The corrosion resistance of stainless steel mainly comes from chromium.

The main uses of high carbon ferro chrome (carbon ferro chrome) are:
1. It can be used as an alloying agent for circulating pearl steel with high carbon content, tool steel and high-speed steel, etc. It can be used to improve the hardenability of steel, increase the wear resistance and hardness of steel.
2. Used as an additive of cast iron to improve the abrasiveness and hardness of cast iron, and also to make cast iron have good heat resistance.
3. It can be used as slag-free method to produce silicon-chromium alloy, medium, low and micro-carbon ferro chrome and chromium-containing raw material, as well as chromium-containing raw material for electrolytic production of metal chromium, etc.
4. The smelting process of high carbon ferro chrome: the smelting methods of high carbon ferro chrome include blast furnace method, electric furnace method and smelting reduction method, etc.
